Confession of My Righteousness

I put this little confession together last year, when God was really imprinting righteousness on my heart. It is just Word, so it can be very effective when spoken over your life. I spoke it over myself for over a year and it worked wonders to make real, the revelation of my righteousness, by faith in the finished work of the cross! Print it out and do the same! Send me an e-mail for the PDF version!

Confession of My Righteousness

But now there is a righteousness of God, apart from the law, that has been made known to all who believe (Rom3:21) .This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe (Rom 3:22). My faith is credited to me as righteousness (Rom 4:5). It is imputed unto me because I believe in the One who raised Jesus Christ from the dead (Rom4:23). I don’t have to work for it (Rom 4:6). But through one mans righteous act the free gift came to all men (Rom 5:18), for He made him who had no sin to be sin on my behalf that I might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Cor5:21). Because of this, sin no longer has dominion over me because I am no longer under law but under grace (Rom 6:14) and so having been set free from sin I am now a slave to righteousness (Rom 6:18) for Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes (Rom 10:4). Thus I don’t set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the law then Christ died in vein (Gal 2:21) so I don’t seek to establish my own righteousness, but rather submit to the righteousness from God (Rom 10:3). I now put on the new man which was created according to God in true righteousness and holiness (Eph 4:24) so through the Spirit I eagerly accept the hope of this righteousness by faith (Gal 5:5) the righteousness which is from God by faith (Phil 3:9) not by the works of righteousness which I have done, but according to His mercy (Tit 3:5). I am in Christ, so I am a new creation, the old has gone and the new has come (2 Cor5:17) By the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect (1 Cor15:10).So nothing in all creation will be able to separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38).

Hey Stef!
I've only recently started reading your blogs, but just wanted you to know I really love this one :)

Let's just say that though a firm foundation, it has only really been the last 5 years that this has been sifted - and only really recently that I have come to understand (and am still in the process of understanding) God's grace, perfect righteousness and WHAT it is that Christ actually did on the cross. The other revelation which constantly overflows my mind is what it actually means to be IN Christ...and thus not only having this righteousness, but His victories and power of the Holy Spirit. To truly be a new creation...and to have life in abundance by living in this grace...

Hope all is well your side! So excited for Argentina! Def Praying for you & your team!!
God bless, luv Lolz

Awesome! I believe it's the greatest revelation you can get - knowing who you are in Christ and then operating from that secure postition. An understanding of Grace (unmeritted favour) and Righteousness (right standing with God)is key to realising who you are in Christ and His love for you! Living the Christian life, without this, is not just difficult,it's impossible! Keep digging ... there is no limit to His grace for us!
